Curing Yourself

You fight and cure your diagnosis by changing your mindset.

At a young age, some people begin to experience depression. The way you cope and deal with that is through your behaviors at such a young age (ex. acting out, crying, cutting, drinking, drugs, sex, etc.). Unfortunately, most of us are never taught how to deal with the emotions we are experiencing.

In today's world, we are taught to take a pill for whatever we are experiencing. No meds will ever fully cure you. Medication, when properly prescribed, can be way to help clear the “fog” you may feel inside your mind (sometimes it can make the fog worse, but I’m not here to tell anyone what they should do or not do - everyone’s mind & body is different - unfortunately you have to figure things out for yourself to see what works best). As for myself, I like to view my mindset as the key to dealing whatever it is that I'm facing.

Because most people never learn how to properly deal with what they're experiencing (usually depression is caused by a personal issue/repeating experience - being made fun of for being short your whole life, or overweight, etc.) their minds are trained to react in a certain manner. For some people, triggers are formed.

I believe communication & therapy extremely helps because it allows someone to help change your mindset as you learn how to cope and live a better / happier life. We can't be afraid to talk about what we are experiencing and dealing with. We are all humans, all imperfect, and I believe we all encounter a lot of the same things on different levels. Being aware of what's going on (receiving a diagnosis) is the first step to take in getting better. Being stable enough to communicate without having an episode during these tough periods, is extremely difficult. This is why doctors first result to meds because they think this is something they can physically change when it’s usually not. You’ve been in a certain environment your whole life or dealt with things YOUR way for so long, your mind is trained to deal with issues the only way it’s learned how to. It usually takes having a person to become medicated in order to become stable and then once they’re stable, they have to re-learn how to properly process information and live life and then begin to eventually sort things out with a therapist. Depending on what you believe or the mindset you’re in, changes everything.

My faith has been the number one thing that has helped me through all of this. Along with music, it's something I ran from for so long...you are NEVER alone in this life.

Due to the chemical imbalance that is caused by depression, your sober state of mind is in a constant brain fog. In return, this allows you to not be able to figure out how to change your mindset and think differently. Your faith and the mindset you're in can allow you to clear the fog and make the connections that are needing to be made so you can figure things out for yourself if you know the keys/steps to take (are stable / in a good state of mind / are finding yourself in a good place). Your mentality is your reality - find what you love and make it your passion. You have to find what makes you happy and pursue it with everything inside of you. Stay in a constant mindset of all of this. Reset and repeat and solve issues at the root, always.

Medication is used too much in our world to numb the pain or make whatever we are feeling that we don't like, go away or hide. We are human - learning how to deal with what you're feeling is what makes you truly alive. We can't be afraid of our emotions. You have to face things head on, solving the issues at their roots.

I love you.
